Grease Star Jeff Conaway Dead at 60

Jeff Conaway, known for his role as T-Bird Kenickie in Grease, has died at the age of 60 after being removed from life support. He made a name for himself with the older generation in the movie Grease, and the television series Taxi. But for the current generation, he is probably better known for his multiple stints on the reality series Celebrity Rehab. His highly publicized struggle with prescription drugs led to what many thought was an overdose on May 11, which left him in a coma. He was eventually taken off life support, and was pronounced dead earlier today. Dr. Drew, who treated him on the VH1 reality series, insists that his sudden collapse earlier this month was not necessarily an overdose, but instead claims it was related to the prolonged abuse of prescription medication: ??(it was) another pharmaceutical death from the overutilization of prescription drugs.? His battle with addiction is said to have began many years ago, and was confirmed by Conaway himself sometime in the 1980?s.
