Poet & Musician Gil Scott-Heron Dead At 62Legendary jazz and soul musician Gil Scott-heron passed away suddenly on Friday after becoming ill after his trip to Europe. Gil Scott Heron died after a short illness on Friday. The musician published five books of poetry over the years, finishing his next book “The Last Holiday” at the time of his death.
